United Way is a global organisation, a leader in philanthropy and a special partner to businesses that wish to implement their policies of social responsibility. Every year, the
organisation mobilises almost 3 million voluntary helpers in 1800 centres in 45 countries. At an international level, this comprises more than 150 large groups, their subsidiaries and
employees, which invest nearly 6 billion dollars annually in education, income and health and in order to improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged.
In France, United Way Tocqueville is a nonprofit organization recognized as being of great service to the community. It collects together players in the economic, political and social spheres around collective programmes, particularly in the realm of education, to encourage pupils at risk to achieve success at school. In 2012, United Way celebrates its 125th anniversary, worldwide.
Thanks to a special partnership, a few teenagers from Les Petits Riens had the amazing opportunity to meet with Justin Bieber and participate in his concert last evening in Paris! This event was enabled thanks to the support of Bill O'Dowd (Dolphin Digital Media), a Tocqueville Society Member in the United-States. (Les Petits Riens is one of the Non Profit organizations supported in our Success at School Program).
Women's Leadership Council will gather hundreds of women community and business leaders for a few days in the USA this week. One of the summit's objectives will be to inspire and empower women to lead the way in advancing the common good. About WLC's.
